Filling the Mayonnaise

“You hold my every moment, You calm my raging seas, You walk with me through fire and heal all my disease … I trust in You, I trust in You … I believe You’re my healer, I believe You are all I need, I believe You’re my portion, I believe You are more than enough for me … JESUS, You’re all I need!” (Healer, by Kari Jobe)  Our good Father reunited my spirit with this song … as I sing this song through tears, He refreshes my soul!

 The other day as I was refilling the squeezable mayonnaise container I felt ‘normal’ … each morning I savor the delicacy of my seasonal Peppermint Mocha coffee creamer and feel ‘normal’ … snuggles from Adam, nap time books and our home school routine are all part of what makes me feel ‘normal’ … kisses from my hubby when he comes home from work makes me feel loved and … ‘normal’.  While this move to Costa Rica is spinning in a whirlwind all around us, the peace of God in these quiet moments of routine allow me to feel … normal.   Our Gracious Father, He’s taking care of what we need in His perfect time! Although these thoughts may not be awe inspiring … I trust it challenges you to call out to Jesus, who holds your moments and calms your raging seas in the chaos of normal daily lives!

Praise and Prayer … these are a week overdue and there’s a lot of them!

Praise - We have caretakers for our Akron residence! God allowed us both to walk through a unique situation leading us to each other in HIS divine time frame.  I stand in awe of YOU Lord!
*Prayer - They need to be out of their house by 11/30 so we'll move to a 'to-be-determined' temporary place.
Praise - Our support went from 69% to approximately 88% (added up in our head) in less than two weeks.  Thanks to the generous blessing of our Matching Fund! emm.org/donate
  *Prayer - to have this completed by the time we move out of our house
Praise - Daryl’s shoulders have become lighter … we have a friend blessing us abundantly by doing our tax preparation

Praise - Three more churches to share our story with
*Prayer - that we could share God’s heart with these congregations, not ‘our’ story
Praise - A Saturday morning alone for this tired Mama
*Prayer - to use our moments effectively as we pack up the house
Praise - Sacred time sharing precious tears with those closest to us
*Prayer - grace as we say “see ya later”
Praise - Celebrating another year of life for Joseph and Jedidiah
*Prayer - that they could sense God’s peace in this time of transition
Praise - Field trips with Pop-pop and Hannah, a much-needed break from ‘normal’ school
*Prayer - Proverbs 23:12 Apply your heart to instruction and your ears towards of knowledge.

*Prayer - new friends in CR and comfort for the tender hearts we’re leaving behind
Praise - Girl time, laughter in abundance as we catch up on life … there’s never enough time
*Prayer - friends in Costa Rica who we can share intimately with
Praise - Meal swaps and a dear neighbor keeping us fed
*Prayer - adjusting to new foods AND not having the meal swap
Praise - Being surrounded by intercessors and a night to bathe this journey in prayer
*Prayer - For their Spirits would be sensitive to God’s voice on our behalf … He knows what we need before we even ask!
Praise - This I call to mind and therefore I have hope, because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” Lamentations 3:21-24
*Prayer - that we would not be consumed with anxious thoughts, fear and uncertainty
*Prayer - for Daryl and I to make precious moments alone a priority … stop thinking, stop planning, stop moving and just be together.
        *Prayer - VidaNet, zoning meeting for the possible purchase of a permanent base.

Ready, Set, Go ...

Our latest newsletter is currently at the printers and will be sent out early next week.  However, we could not wait to share our exciting news!

By the generous heart of our Father God, we have been blessed with a dollar for dollar Matching Fund up to $50,000! So, for any donations received from this point on, a matching dollar amount will be given.  $50,000 in new donations will be turned into $100,000 in donations!!  This amount will complete our total financial commitment for our 3-year term serving with VidaNet and EMM in Costa Rica.  Donations can continue to be sent to EMM indicating “dnj hoover”.

This means, very soon we could … Purchase plane tickets, give our resignations at our jobs, plan a “See you later” night, pack up our house, enjoy some of our favorite Lancaster Co. dishes and follow God’s call on our lives to Costa Rica!

God has called us to commit our way to Him, trust in His perfect timing, delight in the beauty of His presence and to be still and wait for Him.  May His righteousness shine like the dawn and the justice of His cause like the noonday sun … May His glory be revealed to the nations as He raises up disciples to go into all the world proclaiming the Good News!
